Violence
Violence, an attempt to harm a person or property, is caused by uncontrolled anger which is used to intimidate, injure, and/or control others.
Causes of Youth Violence
- neglect or abuse
- lack of positive role models
- lack of adult supervision
- pressure from peers
- feelings of not belonging
- lack of meaning in life
- sense of having no future
- no other options for expressing anger, resolving
conflicts
- use of alcohol
- use or sale of other drugs
- possession of a weapon
